IKEA Minnen Bed

One of the biggest changes to Vy's room is her new bed. I spent such a long time searching for a toddler bed, that she actually outgrew the need for one. But, I saw this Minnen bed from IKEA and really liked that it is extendable. It has three different lengths, the longest fitting a standard twin mattress. So, the potential to use this bed for years, made me feel alright about buying a kid bed this late in the game.

I have it set to the shortest length at the moment. I know it won't stay that way much longer, and could probably be extended to the next size already, but I just love the idea of a miniature bed. It fits her perfectly right now, and I also like how much play area it frees up when it's in mini mode.

Her cousin had a great idea to wrap this string of bunny lights around the headboard. They match the delicateness of the frame and add a little warmth to it. They are also a simple nightlight Vy is able to control herself, so she LOVES it!

The lights make her whole room feel so cozy! So far, the bed is working for us. I will say though, if you are looking to purchase anything from IKEA, I would go into a store if possible. I ordered the bed online, and it it took about two months and a few phone calls later to receive my entire shipment. Not ideal when you have fast growing babies. But, if there's not one nearby and you can wait, then go for it!

Other than the delay, I'm glad I got this bed for her. It's light and airy and doesn't feel so heavy in the middle of her room. It's also been great for her younger cousins' nap times when they come to visit. It makes me happy to know we're getting good use out of it, and there will be lot's of sweet dreams in the days to come!
