We're Going to Disney World!
This summer was an extremely busy one, and the kids made sure to soak up every last minute of it! In the midst of all the bustle, Vy and her cousin, Emma, turned five. This was a highly anticipated birthday for both of them, so we wanted it to be extra special.
My sister and I planned a joint Disney party, where we surprised them with tickets to Walt Disney World. We've not been before, so we're looking forward to experiencing the magic for the first time with our babies!
The day before the party, Ariel and Jasmine sent letters to Vy and Emma, letting the girls know they would like to stop by the party to say happy birthday. It was so sweet how beat up Vy's letter got. She carried it around with her all evening to show anyone and everyone.
After story time and activities, Ariel and Jasmine lead the girls through their princess pledges. Vy and Emma are now officially royalty. They have the coronation crowns to prove it!
As part of their surprise, we gave each girl her own gift box of Disney themed items. Vy's box was filled with things she will be able to use on the trip.
The keepsake boxes were not Disney, but I just thought they were so cute and perfect for what we were doing!
I did a quick search on activities to do at the parks, and learned of pin trading and the press coin machines. So Vy got two packs of the princess "nesting doll" trading pins. The packs are random, but she didn't have any duplicates in her sets. So, I'm not sure how much trading we will be doing. Each one is so adorable, we might just keep them all! The zip case is from a lip gloss set included in her box. She also got a coin purse full of pennies to press to her heart's content!
The most popular item from Vy's box was her pink Fujifilm INSTAX Mini 8 Instant Camera. I thought it would be great to have while she collects autographs. She'll be able to instantly see the photos of herself with the Disney characters and immediately place them in her album. Anytime I snap a photo of her, before it's even captured, she is running over, "Can I see it?!" It's so cute, but results in lots of blurry pictures. An instant camera is perfect for my little hungry photographer! I bought the selfie lens and camera strap separately.
The girls had a wonderful time at their party. I cannot wait to see the twinkle in Vy's eyes when we get to Disney World and are completely immersed in all the sparkly magic. I am seriously so excited, I feel like I am five again!
